Upon checking-in to Shangri-la last Wednesday (30th Sep 2009) night, the reception was explaining to Bruce about the room that we are getting - We got upgraded to a suite cos Bruce is a frequent guest in this hotel. And our little girl was all ears when the adults were talking.
After we stepped into the room, Dyllis suddenly pulled me aside and asked me : " Mama, where is it?"
I was puzzled, and asked her: " What is 'IT'?"
Dyllis's reply: " I heard Daddy order sweets in the room? "
I was stunned for awhile, then I realised what she meant....she had mistaken SUITE for SWEETS !!

The following day, as we were walking in the underpass leading to the MTR, we saw posters of Nick Vujicic's upcoming talk in Hong Kong.
I turn around and told Evan :" See, this guy is so poor thing, he doesn't have arms and legs, and yet he is still alive and happy"
And Evan's reply :" Then he must have Wings !"
We all broke out in laughters.

Taken a long long break from Blogging!
Whoops ! Just realised that I've not posted to my blog for 4months!
Sorry to my 'ardent supporters' :)
You see, it was madness upon returning home for the summer. The 7weeks plus was 'slavery' for me ! By the time the kids went to bed, I was totally knocked out...so no more energy for blogging :(
However, did enjoy the trip back though...cos got to spend more time with my dad, as well as to meet up with friends & relatives. Apologies to those of you whom I've missed out...will make up for it when I return for good !
Er...that's yet another uncertainty -> When am I returning for Good ?
You see, when we were at SGP, we made all the plans for returning by end of the year (house renovation, informing Dyllis's school, applying school for Evan, etc). However, upon return back to Shanghai, there were some change of events....and the outcome is...possible posting to Hong Kong for another year !
So here we are, currently in Hong Kong, doing our pre-move trip. (And that is why I can post to the blog so easily!!! )
Had done 2 days of house hunting. The rent in HK is exorbitant! Even if I double my current rent, still not enough to get what we feel comfortable with! Feels like we are 'downgrading'...from a 4 storey townhouse to a 3 bedroom simplex apartment :(
Tomorrow, the kids will have to go for interviews with the school - Singapore International School in Hong Kong. Not sure how they'll fare....just let it takes it's natural course ! (although we did a little bit of crash course with Dyllis by showing her some Primary 3 text materials just before she went to bed)
Anyway, nothing is confirmed as yet. Whether we are moving to Hong Kong or not has not been finalised, and hopefully, I'll see the light at the end of the tunnel comes December !
Well, one thing for sure, we'll be moving out of Shanghai by end of this year, only uncertainty is the destination of our next stop! (Oh, another thing for sure, it's gonna be a very very stressful quarter for me!!!!)
Hm...I feel like my family is just part of a chess game, the master (aka Bruce's bosses) controls the moves in order to WIN the game !
